This page contains the Ocean Data Portal Data Provider
software package as well as middleware needed to run the software.
This software is required only by registered data providers (they can
download from here the most recent updates). Other users can try out
the software and middleware and assess its compatibility with their IT
infrastructure. Note that provided middleware will run ONLY on
Windows-based systems. Links to middleware for other operating systems
will be posted here when it becomes available
What is the Data Provider software?
The Data Provider software is a tool facilitating the access between the Integration Server to the local data system. The Data Provider can perform access to the local data sets of:
- DBMS data (SQL-databases)
- Structured data files in “flat” (non-hierarchical) data formats (like CSV, TSV, etc.)
- Object
files (electronic documents, images, structured data files in formats,
which can not be processed by Data Provider software, web application
URL’s ).
It performs:
- Connection to the data sets maintained by the data centre
- Generation and updating of metadata in compliance with the current status of the local data sets
- Access to resources and data sampling based on criteria of the external request
Data Provider software download
Installation
package contains all neede middleware and core components for Data
Provider installation and operation. You can also find documentation
and basic configuration files.Installation packages is named as "E2EDM
Software 1.0.0.1 for Windows" or "E2EDM Software 1.0.0.1 for openSUSE
10.3.zip" where 1.0.0.1 is an install shield version. In case of JDK
replacement or any other modification intallation package version will
be incremented. So user can easy track down all versions and manage all
releases.
